CONFIRMED:
ECLIPSE: The Eclipse gets revised front and rear styling, three new colors, and upgraded seat cloth. GT models get a more thorough treatment, with two-tone bumper fascias, a bigger rear wing, high-intensity discharge headlights, standard electronic stability control, and a new (and louder) dual exhaust system that bumps engine output from 263 to 265 horsepower.
GALANT: Restyled for 2009. All models will have a manual-shifting option for their automatic transmissions.
LANCER: The GTS model gets a bigger (2.4) liter engine to further differentiate it from 2-liter DE and ES models.
LANCER RALLIART: Mitsubishi will finally field a competitor to the Subaru WRX in the form of the 2009 Lancer Ralliart. The Ralliart features a 235 horsepower version of the 2.0 liter engine found in the Lancer Evolution, self-shifting Twin Clutch-SST transmission (similar to VW/Audi's DSG), and all-wheel-drive.
RUMORED:
LANCER SPORTBACK: Mitsubishi has announced their intention to bring a hatchback version of the Lancer to the North American market, though they have not announced a timeline. The Lancer Sportback sold in other parts of the world has a hatchback profile similar to that seen on the Subaru Impreza and Mazda3, as opposed to the wagon-like shape of the previous Lancer Sportback.
